Over the past couple of weeks I have been taking a drawing class to work on my portrait skills. I recently had a chance to test them out on a cake of a sportscaster:

The guest was really happy with their cake and even raved about it on Yelp.
At work we had been getting prepared for the Oscars:

We had Lee Unkrich, the Director of Toy Story 3, come in with his Oscar and pickup the Oscar inspired cookies and cupcakes he had ordered! (He had an inkling he would win!)

I also tried a new recipe: Mocha Fudge Bread Pudding. It was pretty quick and delicious!
I was able to make much need and long awaited trip back home and celebrated Grandpa's 90th Birthday!

EJ just finished his last class and is trying to figure out what comes next. We are still in love and still going strong :)

Another ridiculous Hanky video from EJ! Hanky loves to get his bum scratched and apparently he likes the back scratcher:

SUPER busy day at work today! Started out with a 2-tier wedding cake that the people decided was completely wrong (despite incredible detailed paperwork stating otherwise) and I had to scrape it and do a different design on it in less than 30 minutes as the people were getting married in an hour! I ended up working just about 14 hours (oh lordy this paycheck better be nice!) but here is some of my work for the day: Crab...Cake...CrabCake!

Onesie Sugar Cookies

Tangled barbie cake (and yes, these are as fun to decorate as they look like they are!)
Ok here are the videos you have been waiting for: Hank's 3rd Birthday

and HollyMonster's 2nd Birthday

Busy day at work today! Our new paddle arrived this morning (the correct one!) which was really exciting. The not so exciting part, our product delivery of powdered sugar, flour, etc. didn't arrive until 3:30pm when we usually get it by 10am. This really put our production behind even further and made for another day of overtime. Tomorrow should be pretty hectic too because we have a LOT of cakes to decorate. Not so many for Superbowl but just a lot of random Birthday and Anniversary cakes. Here are two cakes that I did for Lucas Films/Skywalker Ranch (as in George Lucas...to celebrate their Oscar and Grammy nominations...there were 2 other cakes along with this order that someone else decorated...no point in showing you them!)
